Endometriosis

In endometriosis, the endometrial tissue (which normally grows inside the uterus) grows outside the uterus, most commonly in the pelvic cavity, but also in other parts of the body. These endometrial cysts or ‘rests’ respond to hormonal changes in the menstrual cycle, with subsequent bleeding, inflammation and pain.
